Ok i'm about to buy a ta23
i have a few options for the engine
1.) 1.6L one with the dual carbys forgot what its called
(will cost me around $1500 with blue slip)
2.) 3T-GTEU with pump, tank, microtech, exhaust etc
(cost $1700 + what the 3T costs me with blue slip)
3.) 3T-GTEU worked of its nuts, shafts cranks everythin completely rebuilt close to maximum with a slightly larger turbo, expected at about 250hp with tank, pump microtech exhaust etc.
(cost $5000 with blue slip)
4.) SR20 motor fitted in with the exhaust etc
(cost $1600 + whatever it costs me for the SR20 with blue slip)
I've been advised not to mention the SR20 on these pages
hehehe but i want an opinion still guys
i never drove the 1.6 so no sure if i would be able to handle the power, can u get wheelspin? is it good for runnaround car?
the 2 and 3 options would be more drag options
and the 4th would be more of a drift setup
all options come with the car complete set ups with blue slip
(car is in good condition so paint wont need no work imediatelly
please let me know your opinions guys coz i gotta make a decision asap
regards

yeah i read it, i know what can go in...
but choosing what to put in and opinions of how it would drive
power, etc is what i was after.
i liked the worked engine idea but i don want it to die on me in 4 months

Buying isn't the problem. Making it fit is. Do a search in the forums for what is involved. Nice bloody engine once its in though

THe modified 3T has had 5 grand of receits on the rebuild, everything larger and newer etc.
gonna cost me around 3.5 grand for that engine
or should i go for a standard 3T
and if so how much can u get them for?
Either way at least the one for 3.5 grand i know is good inside,
but if i bought another 3T standard i'm still takin a risk as far as condition of the engine???

$3.5k for a worked 3T-GTEU is a bloody bargain, plus it's almost a direct bolt-in for your car. But it now!

yeah i dont think i can afford the 3T at the moment
what he has done to it not exactly sure
i know he's bored it, pistons all new and larger
some water seals ...
sorry not mechanically orientated hehe
he's at marsden park,
if u go thru some of the earlier posts he was tryin to sell a
TA23 white one for a grand
he doesnt reallky wanna sell the 3T coz he's got a whole drag TA23 project on its way, but i asked him coz i wanted to take his white one of his hands and he made a price,
minus what he wanted just for the car comes to around 3.5 for the engine, i intend to buy the engine of him
(especially coz he was gonna throw in another one (for spare parts)) for free (it was in pieces but most of it there)
but i cant afford it yet so if u guys wanna, grab it, i wish i could...
heheh
(if it works out for ya's)
betta be heaps thankful
i dont think he'd appreciate me mentionin all this on the website hehe
shhhhhhhhhhh

heya freaky.
you can never expect to not loose to much on resale, you have to do up a car for yourself, not for what you think the resale is worth.
