1JZGTE in 82 soarer what to do?

hey all my brother has just purchased the 82 soarer that brad had for sale and he's looking to get a 1jgte put in.
What is going to be needed to make this conversion work e.g. do i need mounts to be made up or can i use another toyota's mounts to sit the engine in right and the same for the autobox crossmember, will i need a brake upgrade, will the diff hold will the tailshaft need to be cut and shut and what sump would i have to use mid, rear or front and where can i get a suitable half cut for the conversion at a mad price etc etc.
any reliable and accurate information is greatly appreciated

Called Bonneville Automotive in NSW, they have off the shelf mounts to bolt a 1JZGTE into the Soarer. This will sit it in the right position for the gearbox, so you shouldn't have to change the tailshaft, unless you get an R154. You'll need a front sump, as for price, do some ringing.

The conversion will be the same as a 1JZ/2JZ into MA61 Supra, which has been covered in great detail on this forum.

Dont worry, ur car was never cool anyays  As if youd ever own an old soarer everyone hates them and 1jz' s are heaps crap and unreliable and stuff. you should be looking at putting a real motor like a windsor 302 or something in there at least that would take some of the emphasis off the ugly old school toyota looks.
In all seriousness though, something something and some other stuff too and dont forget to bring your left ear, on sunday you are going to need it....... believe me......

not really just being a bunghole in general. I kinda forgot about u putting a V8 in an MA61, hope its going all good, personally not my favorite way to go but then again who gives a f*ck what i think cause its ur car.
