RA23 diff inside RN25 Fri, 18 February 2005 04:02 Go to next message
I have recently purchased an rn25, and I'm thinking of putting the ra23 diff into it once I've pulled the rn25 diff out. Aside from the obvious strength issues and the matching of the handbrake cables and tail shaft and stud issues, can anyone see any problems with doing this?

I just wanna make the thing drivable again.,

Not for what RN25's cost and how hard they are to find. Your missing the point. I'm going to make the tail shaft myself, and all the mounting bits and what not.

Just so I can flog off the rn25 and get some money back.

Correctamondo... YOu see where I'm going here? Buy rn25 for $1000. Use Diff RN25 into RA23. Have RN25 diffless. Put RA23 diff into RN25. Sell RN25. Re-coop some of $1000. Obviously I wouldn't dream of selling it to anyone on the forums unless they really really wanted it.

if you can do it all yourself go for it, if not I doubt you'd make money.

Yeah it'll be done by us, but I'm not looking to make money, just try and not loose as much.

youcould get a guaranteed 50 buck from a wrecker, so that makes you 50 dollars closer.
if you sell it like that will you tell the respective purchaser about it or will you just hope they won't know?

Its actually got a 12rc in it, and is the most gutless thing around!!!! I doubt it would even turn a 9inch, seeing as it couldnt even make it into my driveway Razz

Yeah, your right one of the other hilux's diffs would fit well.

As for telling the purchaser, I'd tell them, but make it out to be an upgrade. "We upgraded it to a celica diff because the other one went and we wanted something more efficient.
