Hey Ive got a couple of questions for people who know about 3TGTEU conversions. I've got a 3TGTEU with the W55 clutch plate and flywheel. Commonsense tells me that this flywheel and clutch will not work with T50 box I have in the car (yes I know wxx box would be better but I'm running it lightly tuned until I get a w58 and altered tailshaft).
So I'm guessing I will have to take the flywheel off as well as the clutch plate. I have searched around on the forums and it looks like I might be able to leave the flywheel on. Is this correct?
I have also heard you can get a Hilux clutch for the 3TGTEU that fits a T50 box. Anybody know what the part number or what I have to ask for to get one of these from toyota?
You can keep your 3TGTE W55 flywheel, its bigger & better than the 3t/2t one.
I'd forget about buying a toyota clutch, firstly cause it is probably overpriced, and second, they more than likely won't have any idea what clutch plate to supply to suit your box.
You need a 3TGTE pressure plate (as you mentioned, same as some hilux's), and a 225mm diameter clutch plate, with 23.8mm x 21 splines to suit the T50. Any decent clutch supplier will be able to locate this for you.
