Inlet manifold problems

So I took all the supercharger gear off the AE92 GZE bigport , the inlet side was clear.
I put the bigport 4AGE manifold on , and it did sit flush , the end ears sat up while the rest seem to sit down, I slowly started to tighten it all up , when the end ears cracked off , so I removed everything and looked , but there are no protusions or anything.
Is it possible the inlet manifold was wapred , it just doesnt make any sense why it would do that.

Sure you didn't do something silly with the two dowels that go between the head and manifold?
