Information about Hosting Images!!! Sticky?

I've posted this up a couple of times and really think it deserves a Sticky...
There are so many wasted posts about people saying "PM me for pics" and writing their email address so that the messages can be sent through email..
I always use www.imageshack.us
Maybe if people can keep this towards the top we can make it a sticky as yeah it gets annoying to wait for pics...
and its always difficult to find places to host pics
Cheers

That might be useful other than the fact that you can actually put pics into the message in the for sale section.
Your post would make no difference to the majority of people who post to email for pics as they simply aren't computer literate.

Also Josh... It's all good and well having the feature that allows people to add pics but if there's no instructions on how to use it then it's next to useless.
Maybe the sticky should be a few paragraphs on how to:
1. How to resize a pic to be under 100kb
2. The difference between a .bmp and a .jpg and how to convert from bitmap to jpeg.
3. How to upload an image from your computer.

yay Simdog. I tried working out how to post an image in Tech the other day and got hopelessly lost. Any basic instruction would be very helpful.

Alright, first things first... You can upload a picture directly into a post only in the For Sale sections. Any other section (eg: Tech Section, Outhouse, etc.) you will need to upload the image on an image hosting service such as Image Shack.
1. Adding a pic to a post in the For Sale sections.
After clicking "post reply" you will notice that below the area that you type your response in there is a couple of buttons.
Click the "browse" button and locate the image on your computer. When you have found the image click "upload file". (Note: If the image is larger than 100kb it will not be uploaded. There is a limit to the size of image in a post.)
Once the file has been uploaded you can chose to have the image automatically appear in the post so people don't have to download it to view. To do this, click on the "Insert image into message body" link. (see below)
You can add up to 3 images per post... So if you have more images to show you just need to make another post and you can upload 3 more.
2. Adding a pic to a post in a thread not in the For Sale sections.
To add a pic to a post in a section that isn't in a For Sale section. you will need to upload the image in a similar manner to above but it will need to be done on an image hosting service such as Image Shack.
Go to www.imageshack.us
You will see an empty field with a "browse" button next to it.
Click "browse" and find the image on your computer.
Once you've located the image click "host it".
When the image has been uploaded it will give you a series of links. Each link is for use in a different way.
Example:
Now that you've uploaded your image you will then need to add it to the post. You can either provide the link to the image (eg: http://img201.exs.cx/img201/7066/example1fe.jpg ) or you can make it appear in the post by using the link but adding [img] to one end and [/img ] to the other (but without the space).
Before you post your reply click preview to check that your links are working. If things don't work double check your links. Check that you put the image tags on both sides of the image link. Make sure that the image isn't exceding 100kb (if uploaded on Toymods) or 1024kb (if uploaded on Image Shack).
Note: You can use the Image Shack method in any post in any section.
Good luck... And if this is going to be made sticky, can someone please rewrite it and do a better job at explaining stuff. This is embarassingly convoluted.
