*shrugs* it looks like the blade of a big ass propeller has sliced through it as it moved past. Either that or a giant egg slicer

i vaguely recall seeing that pic on an aviation safety/crash web site.
i think an airplane was powered up after engine work/repairs and either the brakes weren't engaged or were not able to be engaged (e.g. not hooked up or powered up) - them gashes are all prop strikes.
you can see where it got stuck trying to chop the right engine up into little bits.
i'd love to read the insurance claim.

100% correct.
The guy reckons he put the brakes on, but after he hand started the prop, the plane moved and it didnt stop for a little while. It was a Parafield airport.
The guy ended up getting off, becuase they couldn't really prove he was negligent.

Alloy fuselage skin is quite soft in that plane of force, and the props are very high tensile, sharp and rotating at speed !!!
Just ask Jack Newton what they can do for ya !!!

Yup believe it or not a Cessna 182 did that.
There was a couple the guy was the pilot he started the plane up and hopped out to pull the chokes out from the wheels. Problem was that he told the partner to stay in the plane but didnt put the handbreke on or tell her how to use the brakes so as a result the Cessna ended up chopping down the side of that Douchess.

People, that plane belongs to my University. (see emblem on rear wing). It was done by an out of control plane about a year ago and damaged several more. there is a large lawsuit agianst the flight attendent because of negligence yada yada. yeah....still going on i believe, our uni lost several more planes too but this is the funniest!!!
