Hi,
I don't think there's an issue with actual tyre width, so long as the tyre doesn't extend past the wheel arch.
However, you must ensure the rolling diameter of the tyre is close to the original rolling diameter so as not to affect the speedo.
So, if you want to change your 14inch rims to 16inch (for example) you must ensure the 16inch tyres will have a lower profile than the 14inch tyres.

My mate with a landcruiser got a fine beacuse his tyres stuck out from the mudguards.
The cop exptected them tyres to sit flush with the side of car.

Why do you want a wider tyre?
195-205 will provide more than enough grip for a stock RA65.
Plus, a cheap 245 will provide a lot less grip than a good qual 205, plus the 245 will have more sidewall flex.
Are you talking about putting wider rims on too? or just wider tyres on the stock rims?
