Hi
this is the first time i ever try to put a injection engine into an older car, so please bare with me.
the engine is from a ae86, and the ecu and everything is from the same car, i been asking around how to wire it, but so far i havent gotten a good answer, but people told me to go to this site, and ask the question here, cuz people here were able to help me out.
i been looking at some wiring diagrams from the tech info files here, but i didnt really find anyone that told me what to do (i might just be stupid tho) so if someone can give me some advice on how to figure this out im very greatful.
i been told theres a lot of warning lamps and such, that i dont really need, so i dont wanna hook them up, i just want to hook it up so the engine is running like its supposed to, and every sensor etc is working like it should. with other words, i just want a fully functional engine, but all the extras is not needed.
is there any easy guide to how to wire this engine up to my celica, any chance anyone can explain it to me step by step?
i have never done this before, and people seems to give me this scared look when i ask about this, so i have gotten kinda scared myself, it seems like people who know about this, really thinks its a completely nightmare to wire it up. please tell me its not.
all help is very very very apriciated.
thanks in advance
Tom

i'll just say this.
Unless you can read an understand a wiring diagram for the engine in it's original car, then i would not undertake this wiring project yourself.
Wiring diagrams and ECU pinouts are available here:
http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pages/ECU% 20Japan%20AE86%204A-GE.htm
If you can't work from these, then i recommend getting someone experienced in to do the job. Where are you located? Maybe someone can recomend someone

Hi
this wire diagrams was better, i think i maybe be able to understand this, with a little help.
Im located in Norway, europe, if someone could recomend someone, it would be excellent, but it seems like i have to learn this the hard way.
Since i have engine from ae86 i guess thats the connector im looking at rigth? or do i have all theese down the list? 10 pin, 14 pin and so on?
when i look at the for example the 10 pin and so on, it seems like some of them is already connected to eachother, sensors to ecu etc, they are already hooked up, so i dont have to hook them up, correct?
please help me sort it out a little, im a little confused in my shortcurcuited head

Hi,
yea im still new to these forums also. But i was thinking of putting a 4age engine and was curious whether it will fit straight in or i have to do modifications. Ive been looking around if anyone else has put a 4age in a first gen celica. How did you fit the 4age in ur 22? and the mounting brackets?
Cheers thnx.

If I was you, assuming you want to run EFI and not carbs, I would pick up an engine loom on ebay UK as this will simplify things enormously. This leaves one other ECU plug which essentially runs off under the dash, and handles numerous other vital circuits to make it run and also make it run smoothly in all conditions, idle ups and so on. There is still some other stuff you will need to make up especially to get power to the injectors and so on but not to hard with some perseverence. Study the wiring loom diagrams or even better the Electrical wiring diagram book from Toyota. Good luck.
