Expression of interest - 3t-gte Fri, 01 November 2002 01:08 Go to next message
Hello, as the subject mentions this is only an expression of interest in my 3t-gte engine currently in RA28 Celica.

Details :

3T-GTE rebuilt 5000-6000km ago.
1mm oversized forged pistons
Fully balanced
Heavy duty valve springs
CT20-B(similar to CT26) split pulse turbo
Custom made stainless exhaust manifold
550cc 13B series 5 injectors just cleaned
Genuine 3t-gte toyota clutch with modified pressure plate
Crank angle sensor and cam sensor to suit after market ecu

NO ECU or gearbox. Though its currently running an Autronic setup with direct fire ignition. I can supply all original EFI gear, but it wont like the 550cc injectors/turbo/etc.

Ran a 14.2 @ 101mph at eastern creek in RA28 with open diff (lots of traction problems).

Selling for the possibility of a new project Smile just want to get an idea if anyone is interested and what kind of money you think it is worth.

you wouldn't have the spare 3tgte distributer or CT20+manifold lying around after you upgraded by any chance?

thinking of a 1ggte as your next engine? if only i had the cash...

Its hard to put a figure on the engine as the build up cost quite a bit :

Pistons = $1200
Balance = $250
Head work (re-shim, heavy duty valve springs) = $300
Turbo manifold and turbo = $1000
550cc injectors & clean = $350
General maching costs = $200
+ the cost of the engine to begin with being well over $1000..

Anyways, a ballpark figure would be around $1800.

It's currently running in my Celica still so if anyone is seriously interested they can come for a drive.

If I do decide to definately sell, wouldn't be for a few months anyway.

Cheers
Joel

Forgot to mention but it also would come with a HPC coated dump pipe which has a seperate pipe for the wastegate gases, mates back into the dump pipe further along.

mate, for any prospective buyer, $1800 would be excellent value for money. these motors (standard, no computer) now go for around $1300 from importers.
