TA63 GT, does it have a W55??

I got a GT TA63 half cut, it came with a 3TGTE. Just wondering if the gearbox that comes with that is a W55??

My TA63 frontcut came with an auto. But I heard the manual ones are W55. Check if the plate is still in the engine bay it will tell you the gearbox code.

I had the empty half cut towed about a year ago. Just trying to fit it to another car with some advice from someone who used a W55 in the same situation. I think it should be a W55 and seems to be fairly close to pictures I've been sent.

It was most likely a W55, although if you're going by pictures, that could look identical to most of the W55/6/7/8/9 series boxes.

not just pictures of the box, but how the box sits in a T18 with a 3TGTE, and if all the other ones sit the same then I dont really care which it is. I was just a little worried because it looks quite low in my car. But someone else has done it and its worked for some time so it should be right mate!!

Externally all those boxes I mentioned are exactly the same. Thats why I mentioned pics could mean it was any one of those.

If its a 3T-GTE TA63 it will be a GT-T or GT-TR. Manuals run a W55. If you want pics for fitting in a *E7* look at my past post for the pics of an 18RGE/W55 in my KE70 ute, best advice I can give is make sure the reverse lights work BEFORE the gearbox goes in.
