5M-GE distributor Tue, 22 February 2005 03:07 Go to next message
Heya again guys,

I'm after a couple more small bits Smile

- A distributor for a 5M-GE, vaccuum advance. I have a 5M distributor. So either the short shaft, replacement distributor, or the engineering drawings to have the original modified. Smile

- The TPS is 3 wire on the 5M loom, 4 on the 5M-GE. I understand you can use just 3 wires of the TPS, provided it's an early model 5M-GE. Alternatively, anyone with a 3 (or 4) connector TPS that'll work? (I suspect this may be a later model engine - apparently the distributor that would have fit is a autronic model).

- The air pipe from the box to the engine is a slightly different length for the two engines. Does anyone know of a hose or replacement that drops in?

Thanks all!

Scott.

Thanks guys, PMs sent Smile

Ur not wrong about the rarity. Wreckers almost laugh when u ask for such a distributor lol.

Shipping shouldn't be a great deal; considering it cost 270 for a full motor from Perth to country Tas. Ahhh oops, I just noticed ur from Seattle area Wil. Hmmm, it is an option if I can't get one anywhere. I'd thought about that too...

well we got them here in 1982 Supras, Cressidas. I'll probably find one before you would. And cheaper to.
