3sge-oil pressure problems

I have gen1 3sge and am having some oil pressure problems.Ive had them before but they were fixed by fixing a leak and cleaning the pressure sender.Ive done this again today and have done a full change using Morey's stabiliser and Penrite HPR 30 (20W-60) When im at idle my pressure drops and comes back again on acceleration but as soon as i have a constant speed it starts to drop again. Whats going on? It doesnt smell like the car is burning up and the temp stays the same, could my pressure sender unit be stuffed? If so, how can i tell and check etc?
Cheers guys

higher engine RPM = higher oil pump speed = higher oil pressure?
on idle my car pressure gauge says under 1/4 oil pressure.
give it a rev, and it picks up.
not sure exactly what pressure that is
untill install a propper pressure gauge

the oil pressure comes in pulses and they are always pulses of the same pressure (it's determined by geometry in the pump), it's just as flow increases the mean oil pressure (average over time) increases - because the oil pressure signal is heavily damped this gives the impression that oil pressure remains at some level.
Anyway - StuC -> get the oil pressure checked by a mechanic it's the only way to know for sure. You could drop the oil out of it and check the pick-up as well - also just try cornering hard, see if it makes any nasty noises

that very rarely works, and even new ones are suspect compared to a mechanical gauge.

haha, mechanic?Steve....im doing a motor mechanic apprenticeship.Mmmmm, maybe im crap?! And no, it doesnt make really horrible noises when cornering hard. All the levels are fine, its running nicely and isnt pinging.Just wondering if there was anything else thats all. I'll check the pressure again tomorrow using a gauge.
thanx guys
