JZZ30 vs JZA80 chassis

I was just interested in knowing how these to cars compare to each other in the handling department, being close in weight and size (JZZ30 being the tubbier of the 2). I'd imagine the supra being the better handler in stock form, but with coilovers, wheels and strut braces on both how much of a difference remain?
The reason behind this is I'm converting my soarer to manual and was tossing up between keeping it in its current 230rwkw (stock turbos) form with the manual, saving up some cash, selling it then buying a JZA80 supra. Or going the distance with the soarer and doing the suspension,mild weight reduction, wheels and turbos. Hopefully to end up with something that will out run and out maneuver most modded supras and something a little different.
Thoughts and info welcome

What's the unlaiden weight of a JZZ30 Soarer? I've seen 1650kg as being a common number?
A manual TT Supra comes in at around 1530kg with a full tank of fuel and all fluids, an Auto is 1550kg.
So you're already up 120kg on a manual Supra if the 1650kg figure is correct?
I'm biased as I own a JZA80 so I'm not going to suggest whether you keep your JZZ30 or go for a JZA80. Do whatever YOU think you're going to be happy with (manual TT Supras have the ever so delicious Getrag remember).

It's an interesting idea - I'm sure you could make a Soarer just as quick as a Supra in a straight line and and through the corners. They even make carbon fibre doors for the Soarer in Japan (about $2K each though!).
However, after a while you will realise that although;
it's faster than most Supras in a straight line
it handles better than most Supras
it's a bit different and unique...
It's NOT A SUPRA - and this fact may disappoint you after all that effort (especially if you just really want a Supra).

This would be what I would want to work toward, minus the 1.5jz. The overall look of the car is quite menacing and 400+ rwkw speaks for itself. My desired power is as close to as I can get to 300rwkw without playing with the internals. Relatively easy ask from a stock 1jz internals.
I saw this car in SPEED magazine and it pushed me to opt for a soarer when the time came to make the decision. But Supras are sexy too....
