icon3.gif  Alarm making noice when driving help ... Wed, 23 February 2005 08:10 Go to next message
Obviously to do with the wiring .. (home job). The sound only occurs when the car is running...

Any ideas how to stop the alarm from making a constant tapping / buzzing sound when it is running ?

Or could it be the wiring of the central alarm unit ?

WHY WHY WHY !!?? (if it is dodgy wiring gimme some pointers as to where to look .. power cable seems to be ok .. we tried a few different ones and still the buzzing... )

thanks

disconnect alarm from car completely - re-attach correctly as per manufacturer wiring diagram.

what kind of alarm? into what car?

did you connect the constant supply to a suitable and clean power source? havn't hooked into the stereo or a power source for the igniter by accident?

i have an older rhino alarm - the only reason the horn will make any noise is if it's triggered - noise like clicking/buzzing sounds more like interference from the engine/electricals being relayed via the stereo not alarm.

are you sure the unit is OK?

i dont know if the unit is ok or not, i dont see why it should not be ok ?? but if it the unit .. there is no way i can check it unless i .. get a NEW one ?! Crying or Very Sad

what if i ran a NEW constant power to the alarm straight off the battery, do you think this may solve the bzzzzzzzzzzz problem ?

yeah man, take advantage of free services Very Happy

well my alarm has like 3 immobilisers, and when i tried to start the car it just made this buzzing noise and would turn over - i guess the alarm was made to sound if the terminal was off the battery.

i think ur alarm should be screaming if the battery is off it man !!!

once power is cut off from the alarm, it SHOULD definitely make a noise, and not just a buzzing noise !
