Gday.. i own an AE82 twin cam Seca with the original 86kw blue top. My mate that recently bought an AE86 had a blue top 4age in it but that one was shit so he got another Blue top to convert. He says that if i swap my ECU with the One of his 4aGe that hes not using, i will get the 96kw out of my engine, Just as his would put out. Is this practical or would there have to be other mods????

My 4age has a rwd ecu (96kw apparently) and i used normal unleaded for 6 weeks, no drama's for me, although i know use 100% Ultimate (BP) with a little timing change for the best.
You gotta remember that back in 80's the fuel quality wasnt all that good, unless you had a leaded motor.
Cheers

i have a black/blue top 16v in mine, rebuilt top to bottom with 40 though over bore on the cylinders and new everything, it has a microtech LT-8s and only makes 85Hp at the wheels on 98ron.
just bear in mind my car is RWD, so ill lose jus a bit more power than you will,
you might make that power at the fly though.

I think that you will need to change your injectors along with the ecu as the 86kw has higher impedence injectors (ie take the ones off your mates motor)...
Also I'm not too sure about all sensors but I think they are the same
