does anyone know if the cross member out of a TE72(T18) will bolt into a AE71?
or does anyone know(or can point me to a thread/website) about putting a 2tgeu into a AE71?

Crossmember fits, steering doesn't.

Ill be attempting something similar soon
You are better off keeping the cross member as it is so when the 2TG blows u can replace it with a 4AGE thats my plan anyway. You could use the T-18 crossmember and weld the rack&pinion mounts onto it afaik.
Karl Skews did a 3TC into an AA60 conversion and has put the details up on http://www.garagedori.com/tech/3TC/index.php Has some good pictures and its a pretty simple solution
Ill be doing it either the same was as karl or attempting to fab engine mounts for some welding practice

I'm not sure why you'd want to put a 2TG into a chassis that can take a bolt in 4AGE, but reasons aside, make sure that you are allowed to put an OLDER engine into a newer chassis before you go ahead.

apparently this guy is stupid (sorry)
to fit the 2tgeu, he will need the crossmember from a TE72 (T18 corolla). Now because the steering rack is attached to the crossmeber of an AE71, and a TE72 does not have rack and pinion steering.... he will need to take all the steering componentry from the TE72 into his AE71 and go BACKWARDS IN PERFORMANCE
I dont even know if the mounts are there for the steering box and idler arm.
Your friend is a dumbarse. Sell the 2tgeu and buy a 4age.
