you doubt wrong.
I haven't done it but for all intents and purposes the drive should all be the same knowing toyota and it should just be plug and play.

WOOHOO,il do that then, wont know how it all works till after the respray in a couple of weeks...so Ill let you guys know then..gota love toyota the other great surprise was when I was looking at how to put retractable seatbelts in the thing and after a sneak peek under the hoodlining theres the hole to mount them,no need to fukk the hoodlining and also fuck around making an anchor point.. Now can anyone tell me why my temp gauge starts well below the bottom line and when its warmed up it only just goes past the first notch? If you cant help I might start another thread..

to be really sure, you can open up the speedos, and somewhere printed on them will be either rpm/mile, or rpm/km
the MPH opne in my KE15 has it, and so do later corollas (in km) so i would assume the celica is the same...
if the ration is right.. all good
fwiw, there are three different ratios of drive gears for ke1x-ke7x

Possibly your thermostat is shagged.
Does it take a long time to get the car warm???
In winter does the heater heat up quickly (within 5mins of driving) or does it take ages to heat up?
Most Toyota gauges read say half a cm below the bottom mark when its cold and in most cases normal operating temperature is right in the middle of the gauge.

i've recently added a VDO temp gauge and the response of the stock toyota one is interesting....
to get about 1-2mm off the bottom is about 82deg (thermostat temp).. take it up to 90 and it goesmaybe 1mm more.. then go up to 95 and it shoots up 2-3mm... the temp gauge seems to have exponential response to temp above thermostat temp.... well, thats my finding anyway (not exactly sure on the exponential bit. might be a power series )
