Hey everyone
i've got a st162 sx with a 3sge gen 1 and i've changed the cam cover seals which were leaking, i've still got an oil leak comin from the driver side, its been drippin on the cv joint boot so thats probably why i need to change that too...
Any possible areas that the oil could be coming from?
Its been drippin on my front sway bar bushes as well...
There is oil on what looks like my Oil pump as well...
Thanx for ur help
Cheers
Adrian

that sounds like the old common power steering pump leak.
best to trace down which hose is leaking, or it could be one of the brackets isnt tight enough.
I think 90% of st162's leak from there.

Hey there
Thanx for the reply u 2..
Much appreciated...
This is the thing, the previous owner said that the right hose clamp wasn't used and would probably leak, he said that would be the first situation..
This is the thing, i've been told that there isn't oil goin to the pump... is it the pump itself that leaks?
So oil would be going through the pump, which questions why the people i asked said no oil went to the power steering pump. how difficult are they to change? i'd need some new power steering fluid?
Or i could just tighten it if anything...
I could get some pics
I went under today and saw that there is a silver object, sort of looks like either the oil pump or the power steering pump, its pretty close to the cv joint....
All the oil seals had been changed at 200,000kms.. and the car is on 292,000kms so they should still be fine..
Any info on the bracket would be AWESOME Karl
Ta22-3sgte thank you once again for ur reply...
Cheers

Adrian,
Whoever told you there is no oil going to the Pump is wrong.
Have you thought about getting a pump off a Late Model Camry with the 5SFE motor ?
It should/could fit !
Cheers
