I don't know if it is still true on the RA23 but on most 90's model Toyota's the dimmer switch has exactly the same socket as the drivers side speaker... if you get these backwards your lights won't light up at all.

yea thinking it may be that guess i just have to just run a seperate one im not sure though you dont think might also have something to do when you turn the ignition the front parkers come on so not sure at a guess i would say its earthing out somewhere.
Think im just goin to have to trace it back.

Have a poke around and make sure there aint any ground wires that arnt grounded. Do your parkers work? Check that out and make sure that they do as it might actually be the switch in the steering column, its not unheard of for those items to go cactus on ya.

For reference: The dash lights on most Toyota's share the tail light fuse. If you have no dash lights, you will generally have blown the tail light fuse! ? Are your tail lights connected?

Your particular problem lights on with ignition, not on with switch, will need a bit of probing with a multimeter me thinks.

regards Chuck.
