bigworms 23 has to be up there - rods white ta22 with the massive billet wheels on it looks pretty tuff too
I also like narks ra65 - it looks just imposing in his avatar
theres a few sprinters too ( i canrecall a black one sliding around a corner that looks dumped on its guts ) that looks prety good too
heh - looks like ill have to up my game - and finish off my old pig - i think it will look as good as most when its got its wheels and lowering sorted
Not from this club but i think the toughtest car ive ever seen was a member of the QLD celca club - his name is cliff - and owns a turboed ra28, and it is IMMACULATE .. its looks are backed up by performance to match Ill post a pic of it here if anyone likes - its a serios weapon and worthy of high praise ..

yeah i'm with phill.. looked at his car yesterday and it will be up there with JAmies V8tt celica.
I think some people in this thread just blurted out a car without thinking too much about it.. how can u call a 4cyl "tough" over a 6 or an 8. They don't sound as tough, look as tough, or go as tough! hehe.
Maybe we could have "Most cute Toymods car" hehe, but leave the tough stuff to the 6+

Well when mine is finished I will post some picks (after all I have moved into the 6banga club, so they might be well recieved), but I definately think Rod and Yogi's are up there with the best.
At this stage tho - Jamies car tops my ranks, with Yogi coming a close second, and Rod you will have to be third until the car is running....

I think all the cars shown here are sensational and a credit to their owners.
I live in small town country Victoria and every few years you may get an interesting car thats not a Premier or a Commodore with plastic bits added.
But the cars here on toymods are very interesting indeed.

blowing my comments way out of proportion as usual boys... i didn't say that some of the comments were obvious arse licks, i just said people should think about it if they seriously would judge a "tuff" car.
My car wouldn't win any awards, its just a day driver and gets me round.
i've had both, a 4cyl and a 6cyl... one day i'll get an 8. All i can say is, i'm never going back to a 4 When you drive a 6 or 8, you'll know why!

Hey Luke,
I checked out your homepage - nice pic of the car
I noticed on the page that it says that the beast does 13sec on the qtr - thats pretty cool, maybe NOS might get you down to the 4banga time of Yogi's 12.3 seconds or even Jason's 12 seconds.
I think we might have to join forces to get up there with those boys.....
Hugs

yeah thanks... not too worried about times but cause my motor owes me $1800 complete, spend $10k on it and yeah i'd be keen for a 10 sec pass easy
12.3 is ok, 12 sec is getting there but the 4banger that is quick is Ben's aw11, 11.7sec , no nos or big $$$ needed to send the little baby sub 12 Just takes balls and the right set up. Congrats again to ben and hopefully a low11 asap!!

Luke,
All jokes aside I have to say Jamie's TA22 is by far the Toughest Toymods car in my opinion. Its a credit to him and awesome to drive ! (Oh yeah not bad for a $1200 engine )
As for Value for money the 1J swaps not bad. But if we are quoting engine package cost only Tina's 1G was $500 (yep the whole lot engine, ECU, loom the lot ! ) So I guess we will just have to see how it goes
What was the total cost of your conversion anyway ? I know the big front mount was $1200 but what did the wiring, mounts exhaust and ancilleries set you back. I have had afew people asking about doing the swap.
Car looks awesome BTW hope to catch up with you in the new year.

Couldn't agree more about jamies car.
My conversion cost me about 4k all up. Engine and box, wired up and in the car was $2k. Front mount was $1000 and exhaust was $550. Then you can always add another $400 in parts or so that just adds up without you knowing it.
Bang for buck, you can't really go past a 1ggte celica. I remember when darren and phill were going nuts on these machines about a year ago and i couldn't believe how easy it was to have a fast moving machine for under 2k.
But as always, when people challenge me about the fact my car does a 13 and not a 12 or 11, i say, there are 2 stages to making a fast car.
1. Buy a motor and put it in the car.
2. Spend a shit load of money on it to make it go harder.
I've finished stage 1 and i'm running a 13. The guys running 12's i think are up to their necks in stage 2
Will be interesting to see how Joeys cressida runs when it is finished, which is soon. It made 170kws @ 7psi the other day. Not bad for a 1j

I wasn't trying to stir shit or blow anything out of the water, but have a look at the title.
There's not many cars where you can see the motor from the outside.
But you seemed to rubbish alot of nice cars.
I'm all for powerful motors & turbos etc, and I'm quite suprised I've ended up with a car that looks better than it goes (but that will be fixed soon ), and that I'm defending looks over power, but this was tuffest LOOKING toymods car, & power & engine type does not come into it.
I can't wait to see all these tuff celicas that are being built, ONCE they're on the road.
BTW Luke, I'll hopefully feel the power of a turbo 6 in the not too distant future, my bros cressida is up on stands right now waiting for some new suspension, then with any luck it'll follow in your tyre marks with a 1J.

Would u like to come up to peats ridge and run some "Gtechs with me as soon as i get back to sydney?
With the new box and new tyres, i can launch with 6-7psi boost and it only churps.. now i've launched next to you with the old box and old skinny tyres and you saw how much the distance between us was, so if your keen, i'm back new years for some fun.
PS: how about we start a new thread talking about this crap.. this one takes too long to load. I'm not out to argue with anyone here but seriously i think some people take it all to seriously.
PSS: sounds good joel, his cressida is straight from memory. What people forget is i had a 4ac, i had a 4ag, i had a 4agze, i have a 1jzgte. I understand how one feels with each and there is no need to get upset about little comments. I respect someone with a 4ag as much as someone with a 2jzgte, but wankers that wanna go on and on about crap i have no time for.
Yogi, Ben, Mikey, and all the other "quick" cars mentioned in this thread, lets hit it out good and proper at the Toyonats. And before someone says come to the creek luke, no. Its crap and i won't waste a nights work for 1 or 2 runs and get my car eye'd off for parts.

Lukie,
Wont be any racing from me for a few months...gotta deal with license suspension shortly. Im really waiting for the Western Sydney Drag Strip to be finished...it will be good to have test and tunes there where things are done professionally, and apparently $25 to race which ill be happy as about! Apparently two meets a week should be erady mid next year...Eastern Creek is an absolute joke...Gonna be celaning my car up over my suspension period and doing a few mods as well....ie. polished rocker cover LOL =]

Thanks heaps for putting those pics up of my car Lynden. Haha and thanks for the comments too, lol, yeah i guess it looks slightly better in real life, the pics make the wheels look smaller and the colour isn't as bright in the pics. Owell, if anyone is interested in buying it, i'm taking offers now so email me and i'll get back to you! im_up4_streetdrags@hotmail.com
As i said before, this is just my run-around, so it is completely stock, all it's got is the rims, Central locking, alarm and a few other little things, nothing special! Hopefully our website will be up soon so you'll all be able to see pics of my project TA22 [YPP-13B] as it progresses! Thanks Lynden.
