Headgasket Goo Q. Sun, 27 February 2005 03:17 Go to next message
Here's a quick one - if you are using a standard headgasket (non-metal) on a two stroke air-cooled bike engine (ie nothing liquid flows to or from the head) is it necessary or recommmended to use a gasket goo for the head gasket like ThreeBond etc???

Probably not needed at all.
If anything, use a thin coat of spray on Hylomar (not the brush on stuff).

i work at a motorbike shop and we dont use any on PAPER head gaskets as long as they are new or freshly cut (we often make our own gaskets)

as long as the head/barrel aint warped to much
