W55 GX71-Mach2 Gearbox HELP ! Wed, 29 May 2002 04:07 Go to next message

My stick feels very loose, I have read that if you change the bushes, it may fix the problem. Where can I get new bushes from ?

Ask someone on the Old Celica Club mailing list (non-members of the list can still make a post through www.celicas.org). Someone will know the part #s and I think you should be able to get them from Toyota

Is it the same as a W57? If so, that'd be real easy to get from Toyota.

I believe W55, 57 & 58 are all the same aluminum case, just different ratios. Good info:

my mate has a W55 and its a bit different to the W57 that I have. However, the bushes may still be the same.

Try pulling the gearstick out and see if the white cap is still on the end of it, also look inside and see if u can see a green/grey bush where the shifter should sit. Usuallly this one just gets ground up.

Try getting these in from Toyota
White Cap # 33548-31010
Green Seat #33505-35020

Shouldnt cost more than $25 all up.
