G series LSD Live Axle VS G Series LSD IRS

I know many people have already said that the LSD centers from g series are the same, but I read an article recently by GT that said that the IRS G series LSD center was different from the Live Axle diff. What is the story here? Are they infact different, or is it a case of any G series center will fit any G series diff?
And,
I was told a while ago that it is easy enough to get replacement clutch packs for these. ARB in Thommo or some such? Allan I think you were up on this one?

are the LSD's that the 4WD wreckers have going to me fine for my live axle diff though?
And,
given the fact that I then have to carry an air pump for the air locker, isn't that going to add a heap of weight?

Any G series diff at a 4WD wrecker would have come out of a live axle, so you'll be fine there.
Yes an air locker does require a pump, or you could install a compressed air tank which would work ok as long as you don't engage it too often between refills.
Air lockers ain't cheap though, something like $1500 just for the unit, plus installation plus pump, air lines etc.

Ah, thanks norb, that was the answer to the question. However, I guess the wreckers will probably be looking for similar money for the centers.
We'll see i guess, but thanks for the input.
