Just a quick question. I have a lotus seven replica with a 4age (86kw) motor in it and have managed to break the throttle body butterfly valve shaft. this is the third shaft that has broken and i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their engines.

I am going to see if i can get a stainless steel shaft machined up as this should be a bit stronger.

Any feedback on this problem would be great.

Cheers

Sounds like you have to much pull on the cable, press accelerater down till throttle is fully open, if you can still push pedal further, there's your problem.

Chok your pedal with a metal screw (as seen in diesel cars/utes/4wds) or anything else you care to use, as long as its secure.

Cheers

Steve
