A bolt fell out: I don't want to drive lancer to work tomorrow...

Hi all,
I was just driving my stock sprinter, and a bolt fell out. It's about 6inches long, and is probably a 12mm. Coincedentally something started making a funny noise (like a loose belt). It goes away if I turn off the headlights, so obviously the alternator is slipping.
Now it's dark, I had a quick look at alternator and it seems to be bolted in two places fine. Just wondering if there are any insomniac forum junkies out there that have a good idea on where is bolt is from... it seemed to have oil toward the very end. I would have said it was a gearbox or starter motor bolt (i haven't worked on my 4ac yet) but it seems funny that the belt is slipping.
Well all this is based on the bolt that I found on the road around about the location I heard something bounce out of the engine bay. I thought I scored a spanner from my holebag local mechanic.
Stupid thread I know, but thanks.

Thanks man,
I had a look this morning with some light, the two alternator bolts I was looking at were the adjustment and the bolt that holds the adjustment bracket on, a bit lower I found the hole. Just had to find a 14mm nut.
Cheers,
