I'm sure we are all sick and tired of these... why not just have one, sticky it up the top and let everyone post in there... delete all ones posted outside and cut down on the clutter

it works on www.club4ag.com it can work here

cos the thread would end up being 50 pages in a couple of weeks and two hard to follow, aparts from that its a great idea, i can see a few bunfights happening though, too many 15 year olds in the one thread might turn to chaos.

well i don't agree with this... why would it fall apart if its just ppl posting 'WTB Sprinter, I have 'insert price here' to spend, im located 'insert location here'... would like something with a 'insert mods here'" and tahts it... if mods moderate it properly i think it would work well and really deconjust a lot of useless ae86 threads that waste band width and no one reads

I think thats the key to this idea. And also the big downfall. The mods are on a volunteer basis and extremely pressed for time as it is, let alone moderating more.

nolan what does me being 18 have to do with anything, majority of ppl in wtb Ae86 are ppl that are on there l's and found out about the car by watching initial D.
I am actually turning 19 this year and just stating the facts about a lot of ppl that advertise WTB ae86.
Nolan the thread would have no use for me anyway as I one already own a car and two have no interest in buying one, however i express my opinion that such a thread would very fast get out of control due to the mentality of some ppl who are interested in purchasing AE86's.
Have a look at any Ae86 for sale post, ten times longer than the others, mainly due to the amount of tyre kickers/dreamers, posting pointless crap.
The thread would be an absolute nightmare to moderate and once it became say ten pages long to hard to read for anyone potentially finding a buyer for there car.

i'd have to agree with this. Because once something gets sold or is posted up, you wont know if it's gone or still available if it's from page 2 and we're up to page 49 in the thread...

Then im pretty sure someone will get off topic and start going on about the wannabe's etc...

The reason why this works on club4ag is that it is a "AE86 site". This is a Toyota Club not a sprinter club, therefore there is no reason for sprinters to get prefferential treatment to all other models.

The fact is that if people did just leave the sprinter WTB's alone unless they actually wanted to sell one then there'd be no issue. The problem is that the maturity shown by posters in the sprinter WTB threads leads to protracted arguments that have nothing to do with the person buying a AE86.

Basically unless you're trying to sell a sprinter don't read the wanted threads for them.

bad reason to have it is because 50% of the people who are interested in sprinters are noobs that come to the site looking for $2000 sprinters. And what does everyone know about noobs... they never read the stickys posted up the top Razz

This is just an idea but the 1st post could include a list of sellers and lookers. The 1st post would also be regularly updated by a mod or whoever is in charge of the thread, as cars are sold.

why not just make the cars for sale and cars wanted separate like with all the other parts forums?

seems to work well in sorting out all the shit. atm the forsale is half full of wanted ads (yes im guilty of posting one up myself) but itd be easier for someone selling a car to look thru to see if there is anyone wanting there car.

it seems to work well on fastfours (please dont put me on probation for say it!) having it separate and as i said b4 it works well for all the other forums and i cant understand why there wouldnt be a separate forums for cars wanted and cars for sale.
