quad throttle linkage and accel cable Mon, 04 November 2002 00:17 Go to next message
I have a bit of a question/problem

I have quad throttles on my 4age, i have noticed that with a small amount of throttle only the first two butterflys move (clyn 1 and 2) then with larger throttle opening and WOT all 4 butterflys open.

is this normal or are all 4 suppose to move at the same rate?

next.. my accel cable is a tad too long.. the first bit on the accl cable is all freeplay and it makes it feel really bad.. any ideas what i can do? i just need it to be 2cm shorter

They should all move together. Sounds like you need to balance them. There is a screw or allen head bolt on the tops of each throttle body. Turning this allows more air through. You can listen with a piece of pipe or easier get a carby balancer. You can get one from england for about half the price as in Australia. I bought one 2 months ago for about $40
