Freighting Cars around Oz - Who to Use?

Im going to bring my MA70 from Sydney to Perth next weekend and I need to sort out freight for it.
All the rail freight companies ive tried range from 1K-1.5K in price (Toll Autotrans, Patrick Autocare, TNT Vehicle, FCL Transport). Which needless to say is pricy.
I know getting it road freighted shouldnt cost more than about 700 (600 is the median sort of price) to ship from Sydney to Perth Depot to Depot, but im having a bitch of a time finding companies to get quotes from.
any ideas?

Autotrans was the cheapest i found at $1001 Inc GST and Inc Insurance on it for the MA70. If its a 86 or something you might get it cheaper..

Last quote I got was from Melbourne to Perth, and that was on a TNT truck I beleive. $927ish from memory.
I've heard that its cheaper from Sydney as its more direct.
Maybe that is train only.

Yeah, TNT just told me $1213 I think, higher because car has no motor, so can't be driven
movingagain.com.au wanted $1050 on the online quote, but they don't know the car cannot be driven, so that will probably go up.
Find out these 600-700 places, coz 700-800 is the most I can afford to pay.
Any more than that and I wont be getting the car.

so literally yeah the cars are being double handled. thus the cost. need to find somewhere that doesnt double handle them.

just had a st162 shipped from Sydney to Brisbane for b3rad, it had no motor and it was from door to door (fully enclosed trailer) for $500 including GST.
give them a try they are removalists..but they do cars as well.
State to State Removals 0428 980 440. the lady's name is Dearne.
and that was the cheapest quote...others wanted like $700 and that was depot to depot. you still have to tow it there and back.
im not sure about WA. find out !
