icon2.gif  Engine/gearbox shake?? Fri, 04 March 2005 01:47 Go to next message
I have a shake which is really noticable, when you rev the car past 6 thousand revs there is a shake which is mainly heard from the gear stick shacking, it is conderning enought that i change when i hear the noise coming on.

I dont think it is related to the tailshaft as when i put my foot on the clutch the noise stops.

Any ideas guys?

well.. depends what you mean by "half gone" if it's got a crack in one of the rubber holders that's enough to cause the engine to shift around more

just another thought it is a supra g/box in a ta22 what if the tunnel isnt wide enought and when it revs to a certain point (twists) it hits the tunnel wall and i get vibrations.

Is there plenty of clearance between the gear shift and the tranmission tunnel ?

A misaligned tailshaft will do that. Is the gearbox mounted at the correct height?
