ok, so my bro is gonna get a front cut for his ae92.
just a little confused about details...
how hard are the map ae92 ones to get compared to the
AFM. we cant seem to find one out of sydney which is MAP.
what do most people have on here in the ae92's
also is there any way to see if it has an LSD box.?
thanks

most should be map sensor now days as the afm one would be 14 years and older. lsd turn one wheel or axle and if the other goes in the same direction its lsd. if you do find an lsd half-cut as i need a vin number{model code} to order driveshafts or if anyone else has an lsd half-cut help i need a vin number.

mick: there both roughly 14yrs old hows that gonna make them 'mostly' MAP ones now?!
i couldnt find a MAP one and had to settle with a AFM, still tho, good for a 14.8 1/4
also, i think ones equipped with an LSD should have a E52? (do a search on here cos its been covered) on the plate on the fire wall.

i just bought a MAP sensor AE92 GZE half cut. From Rollin Automotive Imports. All seems pretty well for me from here. I will have finished the conversion into my 92 rolla soon. If you run into any hassles feel free to fire questions at me.
Good Luck,
Daniel

Find the transaxle code on the firewall. E58-474 is open diff, most AE92's seem to be fitted with this. E58-11c is LSD and is found on some AE101's. These are the only two codes I know but there are others.
I ended up buying an ae92 halfcut and purchasing the LSD box separately with shafts for $500. The shafts are different between the two so make sure you get LSD shafts with the LSD box.
Kingmick, part numbers for the ae101 e58-11c shafts is:
43420-12391
43410-12392
They're about $1200 each brand new from Toyota.
