No, this is not another MAP sensor vs. AFM discussions!
Need to get my hands on a couple of MAP sensors (same make/spec)
and a hot-wire type AFM. Any ideas on the availability/price?
Cheers

Um, if it helps, I picked up a MAP sensor for a 4AGE blue hat engine with TVIS from a wrecking yard for only $82 although Toyota quoted me $280 for a replacement off their shelves.
You'll have a hard time convincing some yards to strip it for you given many prefer to sell them WITH the engine complete with sensors for an engine conversion.
Not sure about AFM's but perhaps the small price?
Good luck!

Well I spose it depends what you want - and more to the point where you get it from! If you get stuff from one of the wreckers that knows two thirds of stuff all about cars generally they have to ask you what EFI stuff is and have no idea what to charge for it anyways, which usually means a MAP sensor goes out the door for 5 bucks, that kinda thing. Best are usually the DIY wreckers where you take stuff off the cars, take it up the front and let them guess what it is

It's a little black box that hangs on the firewall of the Sprinter but in an AE82, actually hangs off the struct brace in the import model if I do recall. You can't miss it though as it's a small black box with three wires coming out bound as a single wire with a yellow plug at the end. There is also a nozzle on it with a thin rubber hose that attaches to the engine.
It doesn't say MAP sensor but rather something else ... don't have mine with me at the moment so can't say. Just recall that it didn't say MAP but something like pressure measure / knock sensor?
If you need a pic, there's one on Bill's site but that's for a Sprinter:

Hope that helps!
