dont bother getting your tappet covers chromed as theyre aluminium it would cost heaps!!!!!!!! much more than getting them mirror polished for the same effect

I've had my covers chromed before and because they are cast aluminium it didn't turn out very well(blistered). The guy attempted it twice before charging me $250 for a crap finish. Don't do it no matter what the chromer tells you.

I have had heaps of alloy stuff chromed. No problems. The cam cover, fuel rails, plenum, throttlebody etc etc on my old blown 2TGEU, and also all the manifolds, fuel rails, alternator etc etc on my new 13BT. Works fine! I spose you just have to go to the right chromer! Hell of alot easier to keep clean than just polishing.
