Yeah, I dont like the newer models all that much. I love the 285 and 205 (i think) models tho.
I'm impressed with Toyota's philosiphy of reinvention tho. Over the years, the celica models have changed so much, and provided a broad range of styles, so that a greater proportion of the population can enjoy the celica experience. Us die hard fans might not find it exciting, but from a marketing POV, it's wonderful.
In my opinion the RA40 still has to take the ugly duckling crown tho *ducks*

i reckon they look stoopid.. unless u lower them and put big wheels on em.... make look riced
then they can look good.
my mate is a salesman for toyota and we took once for a drive..
but it wasnt manual...
it didnt go too great... but it had cool gear change buttons on the steering wheel..
so that was its one redeeming point. lol

I'm not a huge fan of them. Their not a smooth flowing car, they try and make them airodinamic but they have too many corners.
Esteban, RA40's aren't that bad. I've seen worse. Not a fan of the (I think) RA6# Coups with the square backs

Exactly what I thought.
When are they going to have the gt4 drive chain in it? If they wanted it taken seriously, they need to make it AWD.

THey had a 4wd gt4 powered version made up in Zoom Magazine... i think in the states - it was the model before this new one..
that one looked pretty trick 300+ kws (I think)
and no way does a pre 76 celica look better than these new celicas !!
and yes the box celicas look shit ra6x oh shit hang on, I got one of those...

With the current power they have it would still need the turbo to go with the AWD or it will be a real slug...

Yes that is a project car built by Rod Millen in conjunction with TRD in the USA but it is very far from standard. 374Kw to be exact.

I wonder if they will ever like the mini rerelease the ra23 style celica...
Man it would be nice with a new modern interior and some serious vvti turbo tech..
But then again I think the mini was a bit more popular.. peeps got no taste

Les,
We can only hope. Hopefully, Rod Millen will compete with it in some sort of race championship and Toyota will then hopefully realize the potential and put it into production.

Chances are 1 in 1,000,000,000 of it going into production though...
But I am hoping just the same... I would love to rice up that celica and blow past... well... just bout anything !
