A crank scraper should run quite close to the counter weights and crank pins further reducing the amount of oil mist being flogged around.
Crank scrapers are usually designed as part of a well thought out windage tray - see the insides of the 4A GE and you will see the scrapers are merely a series of small punched louvres.
There is some free horsepower with the scrapers and I would include them as part of the windage tray - remember too that windage trays are to help re-coalesce the oil and reduce its tendency to be aerated when it returns to the sump.
Thanks for that info Jase. This product I was looking at might not be up to the task then as it is strictly a scraper.
Maybe it could be used in conjunction with whats already in the 3S sump though, i'm not too sure if thats meant to be just a windage tray or scraper or what.
Here is a pic of the 3S scraper that can be purchased.
That looks like a well engineered piece of kit - bung it in there with the stock sump (I would like to see the full tray taken out of the 3S GTE sump and welded into the 2S sump) and then a little bit of additional volume.
Then you would have the whole shooting match sewn up from that end.
