The following car is on Yahoo at the moment and is relatively cheap. 10,000yen start with no reserve and its a 7MGTE 3ltr turbo manual.
165000kms
Stock suspension and engine etc
16inch BBS rims
Estimated landed price of $4000 if price stays at 10,000yen.
Obviously being an auction price can go up accordingly.

its spelt "ugliest" and "colour" by the way...
I might also add that my supra has the same colour interior and while it isnt my favourite I certainly wouldnt run it down just for something to do.

and for a manual MA70 turbo, at 4000 bucks it would be a good deal if the whole thing was painted mission brown with a paint brush. I cant believe no one has taken this opportunity.

3 days to go and no bids laid down yet so still at 10,000yen.
If the colour of the interior is your only issue with the car then I think you're doing alright. Think about it logically, the gearbox will be the R154 so if you took the box, pedals, flywheel and tailshaft out you'd have a $2000 manual conversion kit so for only another $2000 you're getting an entire car with 3ltrs or turbocharged goodness.....

you need to get the vehicle complianced by an engineer then you get a roadworthy or whatever you get down there and off you trot to the rego office with approval in one hand, engineers certificate and cash in the other......

Japanese view cars differently to us. Especially due to the registration requirements for older vehicles.
The fact no-one has bid on it can be put down simply to the fact that the paint isnt brilliant and the cost to get it registered in japan is too much for someone to bother. If it was available a couple of months from now instead of today Id be buying it and bringing it in as a halfcut...

Also how often do you see a JDM MA70 in that color, nearly all import A70s are either white or black. This is very tempting.
