Heres the problem
I have a Toyota Sera Gullwing with a 5e-fhe engine
I blew my engine and replaced it 4 months ago with the same engine type a 5e-fhe that had only done 35,000 km's
When I got the engine put in the mechanic told me that he needed to flush the fuel tank and send the injectors away to be cleaned because the fuel was off.
Got the car back and it was running fine
For the first month the car run well but it was garaged and unregistered
I started the car every 2 days at least to keep the engine from being dormant and kept on taking trips up to the fuel station with a gerry can to fill the car up.
The car didn't ever have more than 1/4 of a tank and the fuel gage seemed to work.
but the engine was idling at 2000 rpms when I started it and 10mins later droped to 1100 rpms for the first month
Then I got it registered and the car's fuel gage seem to stay stuck on 1/4 of a tank but I kept the car pretty full all the time. and the cars rpms on start was 1200 rpms
About a month ago I got the air con compressor replaced and got it converted to the new gas. from a different mechanic.
He didnt have time to look at my fuel gage problem so I let it go.
3 days later the car started choking if I put my foot down quickly, thought it might be fuel level (no gage still)
So I filled up it only needed 20 litres and its at least a 30 or 40 litre tank.
But it solved the problem.
So I've been keeping a close note on how many km's I've been doing so it doesn't happen again
2weeks later it started doing it again this time it only took 15 Litres to fill the tank. and it stoped choking.
I thought it may be the fuel filter so I went out and got a paseo fuel filter(5e-fe) and replaced the old one.
The car started fine 1 minute later the car started chooking if I put my foot down quickly.
I turned off the car and started it again the car was fine 1 minute later the car was choking if I put my foot down quicky again.
Tonight I ain't going no where
Stuck at a mates house anyone have any ideas I need some help
Sorry the post is long just wanted to give as much detail as possible about the history of this engine and its current problem

check your spark plugs and leads

Is there any condensation in the distirbuter cap?

Igniton coil may be faulty? also it may be a good idea too check your fuel pump and too check your injectors they may be at fault

the fuel you may be using may be dirty or have water in the fuel supply

Thanks Will do the Throtel position sensor wasnt pluged in all the way but was just making contact and the problem has seemed to go away.
Filled the tank up only needed to fill up 20litres so it was 1/2 full
Might be condensation build up in the tank and it gets in at 1/2 way
If it happens again then I will drain the tank.
Thanks for your help dude
Going well for now
Crossed fingers/ Touch wood.
Cheers dude
