Hello
I have a question, -is it timing belt or timing chain on the 1980 corolla ke70 1.3 (43kw) 4K-C engine?
Or is it neither?
Thanks for answer!

usually single row chain.
you can use 3K single row chain, or you can also swap both gears and guides and use the earlier 3K double row chain. recommended if you go to a bigger lift cam.

since they cost buggerall (my last ones were $12!!) it's worth swapping them whenever the motor is apart... you can check them by seeing how much they have stretched, but i typically see how much a link pulls off the sprocket.

Or you can leave them go and rattle for years, which they love doing. And the gradual retarding of the valve timing really helps the already barely-able-to-move-itself 4K go slower!
