I got my hachi back from the workshop today and it seems to run ok. After running the car I could smell burnt rubber. I checked under the hood and noticed that the rubber cover on the front wheel shaft had some burn marks.
I was aware and concern that this might happen as the exhaust (from mainifold flange)back) was running pretty close to the rubber. About 25mm-30mm spacing between.
What can I do to stop the rubber from burning?
Below are some of the things that I could think of.
1. Use extractor/exhaust tape on the piping
2. Lubircate the rubber with some kind of solution to prevent the rubber form burning (whether it exist or not?)
3. Replace the original exhaust manifold with a Kellam 4-1 extractor
What are your suggestions and would I like to hear from anyone who has encountered a similar problems. Thanks.
