KE10 AND KE20 ZORST'S THE SAME? Tue, 08 March 2005 01:36 Go to next message
Just wondering if a KE10's exhaust is the same as a KE20's.. like length and bends etc. I guess teh othe question is: is one car longer than the other? Hmm.. I have found a new stockie exhaust on a KE20, which I am keen to fit to My KE10.. if they are relatively similar.

Cheers. Cool

Floor pans are different in both, you could probably use a few bends etc but unless its a big dollar exhaust you are trying to save bit from it wouldn't be worth the effort.

Swapping on a stocker won't fit and not really worth chopping up either as the piping is the cheap part, its mufflers and labour that make up most of the cost generally.

Thanks for that chief.. I see where you are coming from.

Anyone else like to add to this or oppose this? A second opinion always makes assurance that much sweeter.

Cheers.

both have single outlet exhaust manifold...

as for fitting, dunno Wink but KE10 and 20 are pretty different.

have a look as to what bends there are and compare.

new exhaust fopr KE10 should be cheap anyway..

Cheers.. I might do the compare thing. I was looking for a "yeah man, they are exatly the same!" ..Not even this time, by the sounds of it.

Yeah.. the reason I'm asking this is because I live south, in Adelaide and I actually called 7 different zorst places on Saturday and all said they do zorsts for Rolla's, but not the KE10.. apparently the parts have been discontinued.. and this advice was consistent accross the field. So, I gave up on that idea.

The suggestion was that a zorst could be made up, but it would be purely custom, therfore a purely custom price .. around the $300 mark.

I'll check it out and if the KE20's not too different, I might have to dig out the mig and grinder.

Cheers anyway and if anyone wants to put their 2 bobs in then I welcome your comments.

Strange responses from the exhaust shops. Every exhaust I have ever had has been made "custom" ranging form $200 to $1200 depending on the configuration. From exhaust manifold to tip I would expect to pay around $200 - $250 for a full pea-shooter exhaust for a KE.

If you have a Mig just have a go yourself!

Yeah.. I was expecting the same. Funny thing is, is that I've had older style cars for ages and have had zorsts fitted to them for around that mark. Perhaps they all had hangovers and couldn't be bothered on a Saturday morning!

Anyway, yeah will do the measurements and break out the mig if it's a kinda close match.

Thanks again peeps. Cool
