Hey, i have a gze thats getting converted to turbo.
I want to relocate the alternator to the rear of the motor to make things easier and create more space up front.
I know i need the brackets, but what else? Do i need the 4ag alternator, or is the gze one the same or will bolt up to the rear brackets in the same way?
Thanks guys.

rear of the motor? ooooh FWD
shrug.. unbolt alternator, place at back and see if it fits. just make sure the brackets line up the pulley. you can always use a longer or shorter belt.

I know I might be stating the obvious but look to see if the NA alternator mounts hold it in the position you want, I think it might. You will have to get the wires lengthend but thats not big deal

there's actually a little more to it than most think!!!
Here is the list of bits you need:
# 4A-GE 16V alternator
# 4A-GE 16V alternator top and bottom brackets
# ALL matching 4a-ge 16V engine brackets and pumps if you are using anything more than just the alternator (eg, p/steer, a/c)
# 4A-GE 16V top radiator outlet and attaching pipe. Not many people realise this, but the top alternator bracket for the 4age 16v mounts to this outlet, and the gze outlet doesnt have the mounting points.
Then of course some new belts. Trust me on this one. I just did this on an AE101 gze i was converting to turbo, and did the WHOLE conversion from GZE ancillaries to 4age ancillaries and had to learn all of this the hard, long way.
