Seen one that did the same, the ECU was cutting the supercharger off at over ~5500RPM , there is a pinout on the ECU for a LED to indicate that the charger is engaged , might wanna look at that first.

rolla kid wrote on Tue, 08 March 2005 22:41 | Hey guys my gz wont rev out it hits about 5500rpm on any gear and its like it hits a rev limeter it just wont go any further. i just had my injectors cleaned they are all good new spark plugs it has a 7mgte fule pump with bigger 4age fuel line it has a 2 core raditor i dont think it is heat related casue it does it with the bonnet off the only error code it shows is 51 (switch signal) i think i have not yet checked the compression put in the works on doin that i just cant find a problem i have read stuff about people sayin it is the map sensored ecu's for the gz can anyone verifie this or knows anyhing about it i really need help on it

If its the map sensored version of the 4agze then it wont have an air flow meter (a decents sized black and silver thing thats attached to the inlet pipe after your air filter)
error code 51 has to do with the air conditioning.
common cause
Displayed when A/C is on when TE1 and E1 connected in test mode
I would say it has to do with something else.
I doubt it would be compression related as then the car would just be sluggish and with boost it would rev past 5k.
Sounds to me like an electical problem.

i doubt this has anything to do with it i run my gze without anything connected to the pinout for the supercharger light and it runs fine revs to the rev limiter every day of the week

mine does exactly the same problem when it is cold and has just been started. it will fuel cut at 5500rpm, after driving for 5-10min it is fine, even if i have been driving all night then stop to get fuel it will do it again.
my mate from nz said this is normal for the gze to do.
hope this helps

The pinout doesnt have to be connected to run properly , its just a good diagnosis tool if his ECU is kicknig off the clutch at high revs for what ever reason.
|
the engine would still rev tho

could be a cooler piping leak, pinhole or cracked silicone join.
