Seen one that did the same, the ECU was cutting the supercharger off at over ~5500RPM , there is a pinout on the ECU for a LED to indicate that the charger is engaged , might wanna look at that first.

If its the map sensored version of the 4agze then it wont have an air flow meter (a decents sized black and silver thing thats attached to the inlet pipe after your air filter)

error code 51 has to do with the air conditioning.

common cause

Displayed when A/C is on when TE1 and E1 connected in test mode

I would say it has to do with something else.

I doubt it would be compression related as then the car would just be sluggish and with boost it would rev past 5k.

Sounds to me like an electical problem.

i doubt this has anything to do with it i run my gze without anything connected to the pinout for the supercharger light and it runs fine revs to the rev limiter every day of the week

The pinout doesnt have to be connected to run properly , its just a good diagnosis tool if his ECU is kicknig off the clutch at high revs for what ever reason.

Its timing being pulled.
Happened in amtes corolla with ae101 gze.
If the cars is idling for a while, it happens.
Pull over, wait for light to go, then floor it again.

http://www.my-acoustic.com/Car/ECU/ECUskleow/ECUsk leow.htm

Possible solution.
Oh If only I had money to play with.

could be a cooler piping leak, pinhole or cracked silicone join.
