Dunno who this yellow Toyota Corolla Levin was getting it sideways... Couldn't have been one of us!

Proper pics to come, let me know if you want a full size copy of any of the photo's. Webspace size + 56k modem makes this very clunky for me!

We know how it goes... Lack of traction equals heaps of action and satisfaction.

Re: PHOTO NIGHT BREAKDOWN Thu, 10 March 2005 13:30 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Good cruise, pity about the mishap at the end of the night. Got Celica home now so I can start taking parts off to fit to next celica. I will be seriously considering slowing down on the roads from now on and not treating them like a race track. Unfortunately this means the celica will not be going to Baskerville next weekend. But at least coil overs and motor are O.K.

Great pics Rainey. I got some as well but not as good as those.

What happened to the Celica this time?
Maybe I was fortunate to have left early...

Asher went up a one way road when we where going to the domain and after getting it fully sideways he tried to corret it and ended up swinging right around and hit a ditch to end up rolling the car. the car ended up on its roof in a ditch.. not pretty! The little bloke in the passenger seat had a cut open head from here hte roof colapsed. we ended up all fliping the car back over and on start up was VERY SMOKY... the cops ended up turning up and i think they goit a bit shitty when aher pulled a full 180. The celica isn't in a good way. the roof is complely colapsed and the radiator was a bit steamy.
but still it was a good night until that happened...

BTW i drove Mookies celica... Fucking hell.... it was running at 10psi and OMG crazy!!! me and mookie are going out driving tonight... anyway else want to join in ??

Thanks Aaron, they are alright... The low sun did work out pretty good. Would have been better if we had a good camera.

TRD_Supra, that sounds like it was a pretty big stack, maybe we can label Asher the ditch queen. Is the Celica a write-off? I suppose it would be after a roll... How did the cops find out about it, and how did they react when they saw the line of Toyota's hanging around?

Told ya Mookie's car was sick, where did he meet up with you? Pity he didn't come during the daylight so we could get some shots of all the cars. Who was driving his car (other than you) to get him there?

Na knowing asher... being quite rescoursful and having a large amount of practical skills he will try to repair the celica to the best of his ability. I got no idea how hte cops found out i would like to know aswell!! and everyone left except me when the cops turned up i was stickign around to make sure asher was ok and i was going to stay to follow him home, but hte cops looked after him...

Mookie was driving the celica.. naughty naughty!! and i was the only one that drove it aswell... but by fuck its a bloody rocket and we were only hitting 10psi.. he wanted to get 15!! but doesn't matter still goes... i am going to take it for another spin tonight... plus mookie has gone out to buy some Octane Booster.. so with Premuim thats about 97 or 98 RON + octane booster we should be running fuel thats about 105-110 RON....... higher than av-gas dam it will run smooth and have some EXPLOSIVE power!

Guys, like Asha now wisely says - don't treat public roads like a race track. Keep that kind of driving for the track - Johnny fairly regularly organises track days on the hobart-toyota list.

It doesn't matter how skilled you are (or think you are), we're not immortal, and neither are other people on the roads.

Very good advice Stefan, although we may consider ourselves fairly safe even if we make a mistake, we are not the only ones on the road and it would only take a moment of poor judgement and we could be responsible for other motorists lives...

Did Mookie ever fix the issue where his father put in regular unleaded petrol? Is that why he's got the octane booster?

The passanger in Ashers car was hurt a bit, with a long cut in his head. I took him home at first, then ended up taking him to hospital. After the first inspection we had to wait over an hour. Then when he went in to get fixed up I had to wait another hour till he came out with 4 stiches. He was lucky, could have been much worse.

Thats a nice yellow car! Not sure whos it is Very Happy

Shame Mookie, it was alright but nobody really had any good ideas to choreograph the vehicles for the photos so I just took those ones before it got dark.

Yea, apparently the roof is now collapsed. I saw Daniel in the mall yesterday and had a look at the stitches in his head. Nasty. Mad
