Will the 4a-ge 20v fit into a A82 engine bay where a 4ac currently resides.
Obviously the return fuel line will need to be set up, but what else will need to be done? Or is it a waste of time trying to make it fit?

Sure it'll fit, but if it's a sprinter (RWD), some mods need to be done in order for the dizzy to clear the firewall.
Basically, it's the same engine in size with a different head. Use the same engine mounts, plum the car up for EFI fuel system (surge tank, elec. fuel pump, return fuel lines) and bolt it in place of the 4AC.
Basically the hardest thing is the wiring....heaps of people have done it....search under 20V here and on the web for detailed info. If you run into any trouble, there are plenty of guys here that know how to get around the usual problems.
It's a sinch to fit, all you need is $$$

I will be doing this conversion soon as well yeh it will fit i suggest getting a front cut and doing it that way u have everything u need except a efi fuel tank which u should be able to get at a wreckers from a twincam ae82 it has the fuel pump inside, the wires for the fuel pump are already there under the back seat
