Toyota is the new nissan

has anyone else realised that over the last 6 or 7 years if it wasnt a nissan {SR/CA/RB} that u transplanted into your car you were deemed a weirdo,
well, it seems that the tables have turned, everything seems to have a toyota in it now
heres a few goodies i have found
2JZGTE RX7 being built by MAZFIX

2JZGTE Merc 230

3RZFE in a 180SX, owned by the guy who owns ARE intercoolers and radiators, made 744RWHP, yes, seven hundred and forty four

large single turbo 1GGTE in a gemini, ran a PB of 409RWHP at the dyno comp today

I saw that merc last weekend, very cool and definitely A-grade sleeper material. He just needs to get rid of the plates, they're a bit of a giveaway. That and the ratchet shifter in the interior.

Would I be right in thinking that fully sik (sic) Supra motors aside, a Nissan RB20det or RB26DETT is still going to be most people's first port of call for an engine transplant?
I guess it's cultural as much as anything, but those two mowtah's are ssoooo easy to get power out of, and the bits are so common and affordable!
I sez Kudos to the transplanters whatever the conversion !

agreed!
a manual Rb25 Package goes for around $4000, whereas the Manual 1JZ Package can go for as little as $3000
a mate of mine is going to be undergoing a 1JZ into a cifero very soon

Why would anyone touch an RB25 for a transplant when you could get a RB26 from a GTR for $2000-odd more?
Does this mean I should sell the RB25det out of my skyline, and put in a 1JZ ?
