hey.
is an 18rgeu supposed to have a pcv valve?
my pcv goes straight into the intake with no valve.

Thanks
Lachlan.

They should have PCV valves.

My set has an electronically controlled PCV valve between the block breather and the plenum mounted on the manifold flange in the middle. Part No. 22230-34031.

Judging by the bulges in the top (cam cover) breather hose on the picture that I posted in your other thread that exist at the cam cover end of the hose, I reckon there should be one in there too. I don't have one of these though.

For our 18RGU (missing PCV valves we blocked the block breather (18RC blank plate) we used a Catch can: small "International Roast" coffee tin with a couple of 90 degree copper plumbing bends solder-mounted in the lid. This was mounted to the fire wall at the 18RC throttle mounts and filled with the curley heavy duty stainless steel pot scourer so that the air-suspended oil wouldn't go into the intake (air filters kept getting saturated in oil).
This has worked quite well, as would any other catch can that is filled with some sort of condensation promoting material.

i see.
hmmm. well that made things a little more foggy. lol
i think i'll have to get some pictures and post them up. i know stuff all about these engines, and so do most ppl around my local area. i think nothing has been connected properly. they guy i bought it off said, "i just put it together so it runs". the guy who had it before him turned it into a masterpeice. pitty its no longer like that.

Just put a PCV valve in mine this afternoon, never even had the hose when I bought it. Couldn't get a cheap one to match the 1/2 inch ID tubing needed, so pinched one off my 4K donor car. Used some thin heater hose slipped onto valve to make it a tight fit in the 1/2 inch tubing and clamped it, sits about 1/2 way between rocker cover and inlet manifold.
