hey all,
i am doing up my 1979 corolla, and want to put in a 4AGZE. does anyone knwo of someone who has done this or a site where i could get info from. any help would be appreciated

if its a sedan or a coupe then its a ke55. i think the wagons were ke50s, not sure about that though. i have done the conversion to this particular model and so have a few others. there are many articles around about putting 4age and 4agze conversions in. i can think of at least 3 which are relevant on this site. check out: http://www.toymods.org.au/tech.html

its a 4 door sedan..
can anyonje suggest a place in sydney to get a front cut from??? i know of heaps of places out of sydney but dont wanna take a trip to melbourn or SA to pick up a motor..
also is there anyone in sydney who has done this who might be coaxed into helping with the handsome reward of many a case of beer....

i see getting a front cut in your case a waste of money. you will need to pay about and extra $400 to a gearbox. look into some engine packages aswell. you might be better off

yes they do. but just try finding a RWD front cut. i think you will find you might only be able to source FWD ones

yeah i know they are FWD, but im pretty sure its possible ot put them in RWD, plus i am puttin in a supra 5 speed up to it so i wont really need the box neways

if you dont need the gearbox, arent you better just getting an engine package. with a front cut you are paying for everything you get. that is, dash instrument cluster, brakes, shockers, panels etc. do you really need this stuff? is it worth paying extra for?

good point
depending on what the motor comes from i could try to use the front struts and everything to upgrade to a disc brake front end couldnt i? Confused
