i have just replaced my rear shocks asweel as nylo bushes the shocks are a shorter stroke then standard but the ride in the rear of my car is really hard like there is about 10mm of movement is it a bad thing or not as they do settle in.

Tell us about the springs you have in the back first.
Are the springs seated correctly in the rear ?
Then tell us what kind of shocks you have fitted.
Thanks.
The new bushes and the short stroke shocks will combine to make the rear end very hard/stiff, and a huge difference / improvement from the old shocks and dead rubber bushes.
Longer stroke shocks will give you a more comfortable ride.
Given the reduced ride height, have you re-mounted the rear panhard rod or fitted an adjustable one ?
