Injector search Wed, 06 November 2002 20:28 Go to next message
Hi, I am trying to find out the source of these injectors:

Nippon Denso
440cc/min
High impedence (13.8ohm)
Top feed
Same shape injector as 295cc 3SGTE

I had thought that they could be found in the 7MGTE, but from the information on this board, it seems that the 7MGTE ones only come as low impedence units. I can't find any injectors that are 440cc and H.I. Maybe there is a 430cc or 450cc one that is high impedence and would fit?

I am guessing that they may be found in 3SGTE celica gt4 or are these low impedence also?

Any info at all would be gratefully received.

Cheers. Cool

Why not get the low impendnce injectors and throw a 1/4 Watt 10 ohm resitor on them. This is what a lot of Ljet systems did in the past with there ballast resistors, take the 18rg system I think or the 2tgeu system I think for examples. You could get the whole ballast resitor from a Volvo, SAAB or BMW possibly if you didn't want to make up your own. This would be my solution to the problem, can't see why it wouldn't work shold give around 12 ohm resitor - perfect.

Roger - thanks for the reply,

I am not familiar with this system - is it just a resistor in line with the input signal to the injector? And this would effectively raise 3ohm 7mgte injectors to 12 ohm?

If I understand correctly, that would be the solution to the problem...

You say these ballast resistors can be found on saabs volvos and bmws - what do they look like?

thanks again

Kalium

Do the injectors you have look anything like the pics?

If they are similar I would be very interested

7mgteman,

Yes they are just a resitor in line with the injector. If you can find an 18rgeu wiring diagram or a 2tgeu diagram you will see what I am talking about. The 18rgeu uses 4 resitor ie 4 injectors. They are typically packed together in a cylinder type of thing I think.

I have emailed you a picture of the 18rgeu diagram I think norbie did it but the theory is similar.

Sorry I havent emailed it to you I can't find your email address

Roger

They look very similar. I dont have any pics unfortunately. They pretty much look identical until it gets to the nozzle. The nozzle on the GTR injectors is slightly longer.

Roger, thanks for info- if you still have the diagram, could you possibly send it to gjwarm2000@yahoo.co.uk ?
