Setting Hiperboost controller

Hi, just interested on what settings everyone uses on theres? I just have the boost controller without the wastegate controller.
Its installed on my MX73 1JZ and when I took it for a test drive tonight it wanted to keep boosting past 16psi but It kept hitting fuel cut. I know the limit of the turbos are 15psi max and I want to keep it down to 10psi if i can. I havnt turned any of the nobs in yet because I thought this would keep it down to lowest boost level.Any idea what the stock boost level would be for a 1JZ with twin dumps, pod, and 3" exhaust with high flow cat and 4" cannon?
If I turn the screws in, wont this raise the boost level?
Any help would be much appreciated. Its the only thing left to do before my beasht is back on the road

Anyone got details on how to install with single turbo and external wastegate? I had it setup before and mechanic said that there is no need for 2 boost controllers. I tried to explain that one is the wastegate controller but they just think I am stupid.
thanks

easy mate.. one hose the yellow on goes to the wastegate and the blue one goes to the source of your pressure.. somewhere on the inlet plumbing before the throttle body.

google has all your answers.
external wastegates have TWO pressure sources.... a controlled source and a direct source. This makes the ext gate help your turbo build up higher boost levels faster using the differential pressure (AFAIK).

The way I had it was how Bugman described it. But between the hiperboost and the wastegate I fitted the wastegate controller. The mechanic said this wasn't necessary.
I have rung Paul a while ago for instructions and I thought the way I did it was the way he explained. He has had an accident and hasn't sent the instuctions through yet.
When I get home I will get the sheet of paper that I have and explain it better.

your mechanic is correct - the wastegate controller is not necessary, but it is useful.
Basically the wastegate controller blocks the boost path to the wastegate actuator until pressure reaches a certain level, thus keeping the wastegate shut and allowing the turbo to spin up faster.
External wastegates, as my picture demonstrates, have TWO pressure source lines. The one at the TOP of the wastegate is the one which has to come from your boost controller.
You guys should read some basic turbocharger books if you are having difficulties understanding.... i didnt know shit until i read some, and i have only ever had one turbo car for 3 months now - i would hardly call myself knowledgeable. Those books really do help you understand HOW they work, what makes them work more efficiently, and the different methods of controlling boost pressures.

Funny you should say that. Ordered my copy of Maximum Boost by Corky Bell about a month ago. Should be here soon
Thanks mate.

I'd also like to know what that small black hose is on the right hand side above the smaller blue one that is suppose to have a red plug in it?
We've installed the hiperboost but its not controlling boost at all, the turbo just keeps spooling up until it hits fuel cut
I'll find out exactly how it was installed by the mechanic because I know its different to what is shown in that diagram, but he says it does exactly the same thing...but obviously its not....LOL

When I got my old mechanic to install the hiperboost (for simplicity as he was doing dump pipes) he also installed it incorrectly. I can't remember how now as it was nearly a year ago. Anyway, I was told that he was running 20psi like that so it sounds like your mechanic has done it the same way.
BTW that is an easy way to blow a stock engine

on mine the red plug wasn't used so I would assume that the pipe that you have wouldn't be used.
